Koalas dwell primarily in the gum forests of southeastern Australia, preferring a climate that is relatively temperate. These endearing marsupials pass much of their life reposing in the trees, feeding almost exclusively gum leaves, which are lacking nutrients and require a significant amount of effort to break down.
